About the project

The project “Sustainable cleaning practices for the protection of water resources in the tourism industry”, Acronym #BlueLaundries, aims to promote sustainable clothing cleaning practices in the Hospitality sector, highlighting the need to reduce the environmental footprint related to the quantities of water and chemical consumption which can potentially end up in the natural environment with impacts on public health. It seeks to contribute to spreading the message of less toxic to the environment and water saving, sustainable products with a lower life cycle footprint and the implementation of circular practices to improve the eco-efficiency of the sector as essential cross-sectoral elements of sustainable development and taking into account the coherence of development policies. Implementation: AMKE Orizontas – Center for Research, Technology and Innovation and Decentralized Administration of Peloponnese, Western Greece and the Ionian. Support: “Panhellenic Federation of Dry Cleaners, Carpet Cleaners, Laundries, Ironing, Dyeing and Related Professions” and “Association of Hoteliers of Ancient Olympia and Surroundings”.

Action 1. BlueLaundries Study (study in e-book format & White Paper in e-brochure format in Greek and English)

Action 3. Short informative productions (4 trailers 30-60sec and 1 documentary 15-25 min)

Action 4. / P.4. Educational Seminar for professionals in the sector and every interested citizen (2 cycles)
